Seminer hakkında: The seminar is going to be about laser biostimulation on wound healing and monitorization of the healing by means bioimpedance measurements. The speaker is going to give information about the current research on the usage of therapeutic lasers in medicine and photobiomodulation.

Konuşmacı hakkında: Dr. Solmaz received his B.Sc., degree in Physics from Bogazici University in 2005. He received his M.Sc., degree from the Institute of Biomedical Engineering in 2008 and his Ph.D. recently in October 2016. His M.Sc., work was done under the supervision of Professor Yekta Ülgen, designing and developing a portable, high accuracy, multi-frequency four-probe bioimpedance measurement device. He presented his study in the “World Congress on Medical Physics” in Germany and Biomedical Engineering, and the National Biomedical Engineering Community Meeting (Biyomut) in İzmir in 2009. His doctoral study was based on investigating the electrical properties of tissues during wound healing and laser photobiomodulation in order to understand the metabolic and cellular events occurring during the complicated process of wound-healing following laser biostimulation. He studied under the supervision of Professor Yekta Ülgen and Professor Murat Gülsoy. He shared his knowledge at SPIE Photonics Europe Congress and the National Biomedical Engineering Community Meeting (Biyomut) in 2014, and SPIE Photonics West; Mechanisms for Low-Light Therapy X Congress in 2015. His paper titled “Laser Biostimulation of Wound Healing: Bioimpedance Measurements Support Histology” has recently been published in the journal “Lasers in Medical Science” in June 2016 and another paper titled “Photobiomodulation of Wound Healing via Visible and Infrared Laser Irradiation” is recently under review for publication.
