Prof. Samuel Stupp'tan Enerji ve Tıpta Nanoteknoloji Gelişmeleri Üzerine Seminer

Professor Stupp will discuss in his lecture recent scientific advances that will impact the development of new technologies for advanced medicine and energy. These advances are rooted in research on nanotechnology, chemistry and materials science, all areas of great strength at Northwestern University. One example in advanced medicine research will be the design of new therapies to regenerate tissues and organs such as bone, the brain, heart muscle, cartilage, and others. In the area of energy, Professor Stupp will discuss efforts to create new materials that can generate fuels or convert carbon dioxide into useful chemicals when exposed to the sun.
 
About the speaker:
Samuel Stupp is in the Board of Trustees Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Medicine, and Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University. He directs the Simpson Querrey Institute for BioNanotechnology and the Energy Frontiers Research Center for Bio-Inspired Energy Science funded by the Department of Energy. Professor Stupp is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Spanish Royal Academy. He is a fellow of the American Physical Society and the Materials Research Society.
