Two Projects Conducted by BU LifeSci with the Support of ISTKA Successfully Completed

Boğaziçi University Life Sciences and Technologies Application and Research Center,   “Life Sciences Sectoral Service Laboratories Accreditation”  and  “Improving Istanbul Health Industry R&D and Innovation Capacity” initiated in September 2015 with the support provided by Istanbul Development Agency within the scope of the Innovative Istanbul Financial Support Program.  He successfully completed two projects titled at the end of September 2016. 

Center Director  Assoc. Dr. Rana SanyalWith the accreditation project carried out by . In our center, original scientific research and development studies are carried out together in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and biomedical devices. Within the framework of the project, relevant international and national accreditation applications were made for the Animal Production and Care Unit and the Test-Analysis Unit, which constitute the infrastructure of our Center, and the preparations for the accreditation application were completed by making infrastructure improvements in the Medical Device Development Unit. 

The sectoral synergy formed around the Inovita Life Sciences and Technologies Istanbul Cooperation Platform, which was formed in 2011 as the first project of our center for university-industry cooperation, has turned into the İSEK – Istanbul Health Industry Cluster association in 2014 with the participation of regional stakeholders. prof. Dr. In this process carried out by Cengizhan Öztürk, with the project of developing the R&D and innovation capacity of the industry, strengthening the coordination focused on innovative and technological production with high added value, increasing awareness and sectoral cooperation, establishing a pilot production infrastructure and training to meet the current and priority needs of the sector in the Istanbul region. and dissemination of consultancy services. Within the scope of the project, these activities were carried out and the pilot production facility was established within Teknopark Istanbul. The partners of this project are Acıbadem University, Medipol University, Marmara Health Sector Businessmen’s Association, and its participants are Technopark Istanbul and Istanbul Chamber of Industry.
